Via The Friendly Barbet: Two years ago today (November 20, 2009) I went on a road trip to Ohio, US with Paula Ballak where we met up with Stacy Able for a Pat Hastings seminar. Along for the ride was our Satine and Paula’s litter of 10 eight week old Barbet puppies born September 26, 2009. Puppies are structure evaluated at 56 days (+ or – three days) which fortunately Paula’s, Couraliee Black Bonnie X Anton z Gorki Podduchownej litter was precisely. I happened to have my video camera to capture the moment with Pat’s permission as she evaluated her first ever litter of Barbet puppies…..Biscay’s Tacoma, Taitte, Tangerine, Tanner, Tatiana, Teacleopatra, Tennessee, Tolouse, Topher and Treasures. Which three of these puppies have gone on to become breeding Barbet; Teacleopatra (aka Cleo) and Treasures (aka Isis) for Stacy Able of American Barbet and Tolouse (aka Tug) for Tracey Schnabel of Mile Square Barbet.

Days before the seminar Pat’s assistant emailed Paula and I asking if we knew of anyone with a 8 week old litter. Happened Paula had one that was 7-8 weeks old so the intrepid Canadians drove down 8 puppies to get an evaluation by Pat Hasting. The finding were stunning and really opened up our eyes in viewing puppies structures. I won’t bore you with the details, rather I’ll show you photos of Pat evaluating puppies along with Paula and Ula’s visit to our home in Indiana.
