First three Barbet puppies off to their American homes

Yesterday we sent off Corsica (now Athena), Corbin (name tbd), and Cali (name staying Cali!) to their respective homes. Athena traveled the furthest to Colorado and according to her owner was a great little traveler.

Barbet in America: Cleo’s puppies are 8 weeks old

Time always passes too quickly when raising Barbet puppies. It feels like yesterday these beauties were born on Thanksgiving… now they are 8 weeks old and will slowly begin to make their way to their new families. Luckily, the families will slow trickle this way these next 3-4 weeks. The Barbet puppies will go every where from Colorado to Louisiana to Brooklyn. Walter and I are thrilled to be able to bring joy to the 11 new families, but are also sad to see them go. Luckily, we have Cleo, Isis, Cinna, and Lia ready to take any attention.

Before they all go, I had to attempt a photo of all of our Barbet puppies together one last time.

Our Barbet puppies are 6 weeks old now

After photographing artisan marshmallows for 240sweet.com, I completed my puppies 6 week old portraits on a plain studio backdrop. You can see them really transforming into wee Barbet dogs. We’re not sure how we’ll be able to let all of these pups go soon, but our hand picked families are all excited as are we for these Barbet puppies to begin their new lives.

60 degree day: Time to bring the Barbet puppies outside and play!

What a weird winter it’s been. I’m not complaining, as this California girl MUCH prefers warmth to cold and ice, but today is the 6th of January and it’s 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Capitalizing on the warmth, we’ve been taking the pups out as much as we can to start potting training and prep them for their new homes.

Barbet puppies make their first Photoshoot appearance

This past weekend I worked on a very special inspiration shoot with the finest talent the Midwest Wedding Industry has to offer. I won’t go too much into the specifics as that’s more of www.stacyable.com/blog stuff, but I have to share some frames from the brief appearance of my 3.5 week old Barbet puppies.

Barbet Puppies are nearly 2 weeks old

The puppies are doing wonderful. They’ll be 2 weeks old this Thursday and their eyes and ears should begin to open soon. Mom, Cleo, is still feeding them multiple times a day and I’ve been spending most of my time near their puppy box ensuring they all get enough food as well as feeding Cleo 4-5 times a day. Below are photos of the pups at roughly 1.5 weeks of age I took a few days ago.
