Being the Barbet is not fully recognized with the AKC in America yet, the dogs are commonly registered with the Canadian Kennel Club, CKC, to keep a full registry going. Also if the dog is imported they will respectively have a pedigree from that country. In France that is usually the SCC or FCI. Note– the FCI pedigree is not accepted by the AKC or AKC FSS.
