Many shades of a Barbet

The Barbet come in many colors. If you look at the old photos and paintings of the Barbet you’ll see many of them were parti colors (mostly white with large black spots), brown, and so forth.

My first experiences with barbet were with predominately black colored pooches. As I further delved into the water dog world I found there were so many more colors and not to mention old blood lines to pursue. In my home, I’m fortunate to have a couple color variations with I feel is great for my breeding program and America.

Here is a photo of Stacy Able Photography + Barbet Dogsthree of my five Barbet. Notice the rich black color of Isis which still has a red tone, then the maroon/mahogany brown of Cleo, and last but not least the fawn beigey red of Lia my puppy with the white paw. Of course there’s my the redhead of the group :)

I’ll be out of town for a week so if there is internet in my destination I’ll blog some more but if not hope you all have a  great week!
