Pat Hastings Seminar : Barbet

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Paula of Biscay Water Dogs, Ula of The Friendly Barbet, and Me (Stacy Able) of American Barbet joined together in Ohio in October to attend a Pat Hastings seminar on dog structure. Sounds mundane but in the breeding world it was a very important lecture with knowledge essential in improving the Barbet in North America.

Days before the seminar Pat’s assistant emailed Paula and I asking if we knew of anyone with a 8 week old litter. Happened Paula had one that was 7-8 weeks old so the intrepid Canadians drove down 8 puppies to get an evaluation by Pat Hasting. The finding were stunning and really opened up our eyes in viewing puppies structures. I won’t bore you with the details, rather I’ll show you photos of Pat evaluating puppies along with Paula and Ula’s visit to our home in Indiana.

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

There is a new man in town named Courallis Candor aka Canto. He was imported from Quebec, Canada. He is happily living in Brooklyn and Peconic, New York with the Cardinale Matalon family. Isn’t he a furry beautiful man?
