So I’ve gotten a flip video to capture all the cuteness of my pack. I’m no videographer so no judging on the quality nor steadiness of the video.
Here is a short clip of the pack running up the stairs to come inside

If you’ve ever seen a Barbet you’ll instantly get sucked into them by their GORGEOUS eyes. They have these deep brown to honey colored eyes that are stunning. As puppies they start out blind and deaf for 2 weeks then their eyes open to this luxurious blue color. They then turn to a green color and lastly to a light or dark brown pending their eye color genetics.
Here are some photo of Barbet eyes: Cleo, Dyna, and Isis

Cody’s 1st birthday was earlier this month and to celebrate I’m posting some recent photos of him crashing in the waves. You can tell that he really enjoys romping on the beaches of California. He looks so much like his Dad Cinna! Happy Birthday my gorgeous grandpup!

Barbet Lia, who just turned 1, is seen here in the Indiana snow with her trainee Isis. Much to Lia’s dismay, Isis loves to follow Lia during fetch. Isis is really picking up on frisbee while Cleo is having a blast following Belle. They all have the most amazing time in the snow. I can not wait until the next flakes fall as it’s less muddy for one but the pack love to roll, fetch, and “frap” (frantic running and playing) while in the cold stuff.
A fun fact about Barbet tails since you can see it in the photo below.. often when Barbet are happy or interested in something their tails will be held up high. The standard is a crochet hook it long and curved with a slight hook at the end often to be held low/straight behind the body. You can see in Lia and Isis that they are having a blast so their tails are held up higher than normal.

Check out Tug! He is one suave, debonair, metropolitan Barbet! I love how you can see the sky line behind this handsome boy. He’s a lucky pup to go on trots near one of the most gorgeous skylines around.

Finley, a Barbet living in New York, is a goofy guy. He could be a comedian if he could tell jokes but instead his expressions and antics can be told through his human mediator on theĀ Finley, “The Black Pearl” Barbet Blog.
Since I’m not much of a writer, I’ll post the many faces of Finley through photos.

There was a 7 inch snow fall that blanketed Indiana in early January. Well that meant snow frisbee here in hoosier-ville. All of our Barbet had a blast chasing the pink frisbee along with each other. Barbet LOVE snow. We’ve noticed when Barbet get to romp in the tiny flakes they are awash with energy and joy. They’ll shove their muzzles into the powder and eat up the cold frozen drops.
While they play fetch, they’ll dive into the snow to snatch the frisbee all the while creating a whirlwind of powder and paws. They also enjoy to play snow-bet football as one will get the toy and the others will chase, dodge, and lunge for the frisbee. Eventually someone brings it back for the process to begin again. After 30 minutes of play, snow-dreads will form which will thaw out easily once the Barbet return inside.

I can’t believe it’s been a year since our litter with Xela x Cinna on 1/14/2009. They are all now full grown adult Barbet and so beautiful. I only wish they lived a little bit closer as I’d throw them a pup party with doggy cupcakes. Love to all you beautiful Barbet babies from your parents (xela x cinna) and your mid-woofs (Walter and I)
